September, 2011 – After many years of collaboration, Waste Connections
of Colorado and Landfill Energy Systems have completed a landfill gas to energy plant that collects landfill
gas from: Denver Regional Landfill South, Denver Regional Landfill North, and Front Range Landfill and uses
it to power two generators that are capable of producing 3.2 Mega watts of electricity.
January, 2012 – The Front Range Landfill is presented with the Erie
Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award.
April, 2012 – The crew of Front Range Landfill is featured on national
television when BBC America airs an episode of Richard Hammond’s – “Crash Course”. Filming for the show took
place in September, 2011 and lasted for an entire week while the host of the show learned from our expert
operators how to safely and effectively operate a bull dozer, landfill compactor, and scraper.
